Group tours Kenya safari Land Cruiser

Group tours are worth it if you want more safari and less stress. You share a Land Cruiser and an expert guide with a small group, and we take care of the transport, accommodation and game drives, so all you have to do is enjoy the wildlife.

This guide explains how group tours with Africa Events & Incentives work and gives you seven reasons travelers choose them.

What Are Group Tours on a Kenya Safari?

On a group joining safari, you share the safari vehicle and the guide’s services with a maximum of 6 clients on budget camping trips, or 7 clients with en-suite accommodation. Every client gets a window seat.

The itinerary and daily timings are fixed, which is how we keep prices low. Our group joining safaris run for 2 to 8 days and are available all year round in Kenya.

7 Reasons Group Tours Are Worth It

  1. Group Tours Cost Less Than a Private Safari Sharing the vehicle and guide spreads the biggest costs of a safari across several travelers. Group joining safaris are cheaper than the corresponding private safaris, which puts the Masai Mara, Amboseli and other top parks within reach of a smaller budget.

  2. The Logistics Are Handled for You: Transport, a professional guide, accommodation and game drives come together in one package. You don’t compare lodges, hire a driver or build a route. Your briefing manager shares the timings, and you follow a clear daily schedule.

  3. Every Client Gets a Window Seat Our 4×4 Toyota Land Cruisers have pop-up roofs and seat a maximum of 7 clients plus the driver. Everyone gets a window seat for photos and sightings, and clients rotate between the front and back rows by mutual agreement.

  4. You Get an Expert Wildlife Guide Your guide is an English-speaking, professionally trained wildlife guide. All vehicles and guides are arranged directly by Africa Events & Incentives, not outsourced to third parties.

  5. Group Tours Are Ideal for Solo Travelers and Couples Most group joining clients are solo travelers, backpackers and couples on a budget, usually young adults in their 20s and 30s. You share the Land Cruiser with people from different backgrounds, swap stories and cultures, and often leave with new friends.

  6. Departures Run All Year Round in Kenya Group joining safaris in Kenya run throughout the year. In Tanzania they run on select dates between June and October and between December and February. Each vehicle carries a maximum of 7 clients, so popular dates can fill up close to departure. Book early.

  7. Group Tours Fit Short Trips With safaris from 2 to 8 days, you can fit a real wildlife experience into a short holiday without planning a long itinerary.

What to Expect on Your First Day Pick-up is from any location in Nairobi (or Arusha for Tanzania trips) between 6:00 and 8:30 AM, and the estimated time is in your itinerary. We advise arriving a day early to rest.

Expect about 7 to 9 hours of travel per day, including pick-ups, game drives and drop-offs. Game drives are only allowed between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM in all parks and reserves.

Are Group Tours Right for Everyone?

Group tours come with trade-offs. Itineraries and timings are fixed and can’t be customized. The pick-up vehicle waits a maximum of 20 minutes, and each client should bring only one bag or backpack.

If you need flexibility, for example when travelling with children or elderly family members, or for serious wildlife photography, a private safari is a better fit. Our private vs group joining safari guide compares the two side by side.
