Getting to Mara Serena Lodge

Mara Serena Lodge is roughly a 6-hour drive from Nairobi via Narok and the Sekenani Gate, or a 45-minute flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Mara Serena Airstrip, just 2km from the lodge. Most group safari guests travel by road in a shared safari vehicle, which is included in this package.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Pick-up at an agreed location in Nairobi, then drive to the floor of the Rift Valley with a brief stop at the viewpoint. Proceed into the Masai Mara Reserve, the domain of the Maasai, Kenya’s cattle-herding nomads. Arrive at Mara Serena Lodge in time for lunch, then set out on an afternoon game drive around 3:30 PM through the Mara Triangle. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day at Masai Mara A full day of game drives across the Mara Triangle, home to the densest wildlife concentrations in the reserve — lion, elephant, cheetah, and, in season, the Great Migration herds crossing the Mara River. Meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi An early morning game drive before breakfast, then check out of Mara Serena Lodge and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
